NUTRITION, REST AND PRODUCTIVITY

In last years them companies are so interested in increase your productivity and they have forgotten that it is  so difficult for workers the conciliation between the labor life and the family and social life of these. By that as minimum factories would have ensure by their conditions of rest and nutrition of their workers when they can not go at their home to eat or rest. 
Inadequate nutrition (e.g. heavy meals for people who works in offices) or lack of rest after eating, may cause an increase of stress for the person as well as a decrease in the efficiency and speed of the worker. What it has a direct impact on the productivity of the company. 
For this reason I propose you a "wellness program" for the employees who work in continued schedule and those who have split time and they have not time to go to their homes because they live far away so they can rest if they need it.  
The program consist of two ideas:  
  • On the one hand, I recommend to recruitment  a dietitian or nutritionist so prepare menus acording to needs of workers.   
  • On the other hand, I suggest to prepare a room (inside the company) with relaxing music and several recliners, so that employees in their time off can relax and rest, for example after eating. 
This idea is proposed because in our company almost all workers are Office workers and several studies show: 
  • People who does not have a moderate or high physical wear (that is our case) if they eat meals with difficult digestion these people have a heavy feeling in their stomach and cause a digestion process longer. Furthermore, when a person is doing the digestion, the blood flow basically is concentrated in the digestive system and this provoke a reduction of blood flow in other areas of the person (e.g. brain...) and this implies a decrease in cognitive and sensory skills of people. So, after eating people feel more tired and therefore  they are less productive (can reach more mistakes). 



In short, it is convenient food of employees who work in offices are light so that their digestion is quick and I recommended to rest after eating because in this way thay will be more productives when they return to work. I am convinced that these measures apart from improve in the health and efficacy of workers, they will be more motivated because they know that the company is cared for them and in the long run this translates into less stress for workers, less labour absenteeism and greater involvement of the worker with the company.
